United Dining bonus miles offer?
Randy is listing some kind of offer for 8k
bonus miles in United dining, but it's under
the Westin offers for some reason. Does
anyone know why? Do I have to be a Westin
premier member too?

I was surprised by this as well. The offer is for 8000 Westin points (not miles), which is equivalent to 1600 United miles when transferred via Sheraton Club points. And yes you have to be member of Westin Premier to qualify for this.

If you are a National (Car Rental) Emerald Aisle member, there is a special offer for 3000 bonus miles with United for dining 5 times prior to July 31. You must register for this offer by June 15. Sorry, I don't have the number with me. Try calling National's Emerald Aisle for help.

I believe you need to register for the Westin
Mileage Plus 8000 points off. I think I
called an 800-number and punched in my
Westin Premier number. (then again my mind
sometimes fails me.)
Simply dine at five participating restaurants
listed in the Mileage Plus dining guide by
July 31st and you'll get the Westin points.
Mileage Plus dining is free to ALL Mileage
Plus members. The object is keep a record
of all the participating restaurants. A few
times I went after them for missing credit.
I guess you can call Westin Premier and/or
United Mileage Plus and they can explain this
better.

M-P is running the program. I'm hoping to
eat my way to those extra points. Eyeing
a stay in either Tokyo or Bangkok this
