Guess UA realizes that if they are to be successful with their focus on high yield customers then they need to be aggressively competitive with other airlines on features that are important to those customers.
Although it would just be good common business sense to restore this bene, I won't believe this until I see it.

So now I need to spend 25K more miles for my Asian F awards. With my flying pastern it will take me about 70 more less-than-500-mile segments to make up the difference. I think we won the battle but lost the war.
