Are all UA call agents based in India?

Called several times during the last few days and it seems to me the agents talked to me are all based in India.

If you happen not to be an elite or having to call at peak or night hours or happen to live in Europe and not being able to speak Polish/German ... then yes, they are all in India.

Otherwise there are some in the US, Poland, Philippines ...

Whether you go to an call center in India (ICC) or not is based on several factors. In addition to India, I believe there is still a call center in Manilla. And then there are a few in the US, including Dearborne, MI and Honalulu (and possibly still Chicago?).

Certain functions are exclusively in India, such as Web support. Others are dependant on a range of factors which can include status, where you are calling from, time of day and what you are calling about. For example, a call from a general MP member calling about a domestic reservation is likely to end up at an ICC, while a 1K member calling about the same domestic reservation is more likely than not ending up at a US call center.

I've been calling the 1P desk a couple of times a day for the last week now tyring to book some awared travel. I usually end up asking the agent where they are from. So far I have talked to agents from Chicago, Detroit and Honolulu. Only once did I get India and that was a very brief call....

I'm guessing you don't have any status?

Prior to this month, 100% of my 1P calls went to the US.

Since July 1st I am 0/10 for US-based call centers. All have been India. I noticed the caliber of employee was far better than normal for ICC (i.e., it only took a few minutes to change my airport day-of travel due to delays).

BTW, I wanted to add that all three domestic call centers are 24/7. Staffing is adjusted based on call volumes, so calling at a certain time isn't going to give you much of an advantage of getting one center vs. another.

Kinda surprised by this really.... FWIW, the 1P/1K "desk" is the same desk although calls are routed differently.

I called United Reservations, the Worldwide number. And I spoke to a very nice lady in Chicago. I noticed she had a southern accent and she informed me that she moved there from Houston.
