My wife received an additional United Visa card and paid $140 annual fee few weeks ago. Today she received a letter from Chase indicating that she will not get any bonus miles because she already has another Visa card. It seems they are finally enforcing the rule.

Hmmm, well my first statement closes on a new UA Visa Dec 20th, I'll see what happens.

I think it's ridiculous to have given out multiple bonuses like this, but it's not fair for Chase/United to have it both ways. Either give out one set of bonus miles and continue to comp all the cards or charge for all the additional cards, but keep giving out bonus miles.
But certainly don't send me a pre-approved application twice a month for which you want to charge me and will give me nothing extra in return.

The direct mail is exactly why I just signed up for two more this weekend!Originally Posted by robb

They finally wised up .
But, don't cancel, just convert it to the no-fee card.

Does this only apply to the sign up bonus? Will you be able to still get bonus EQM's on each card you have?
Noticing a lot of negative mile adjustments on my statements for the past few months. When inquiring they tell me they are not giving double miles in certain categories. I think it is unfair that they decide not to pay bonus miles on certain things and then take them away from you. Chase thinks they can change the rules when they want.

This is bad news indeed. I activated four cards last year - 100,000 RDMs, 20K EQMs, and 4 1,000 mi U/G certs for $580. Looks like I actually have to fly more than 25K EQMs to make 1P for 2008

What about if you cancel all your existing Chase cards and reapply? Would this get you the bonus miles?
