Joining Mileage Plus for 1st time - Bonus miles for joining?

Joining Mileage Plus for 1st time - Bonus miles for joining?
Greetings to all, and my apologies if this has been answered before. I did a search, and did not find anything here or on United web site except the Earn 21,000 bonus miles, plus first year free credit card offer.
So the simple question is, does United offer bonus miles for those joining for the first time, and if so, is it on the web site or does one have to call?
If it makes any difference I'm also asking for a status match for my CO Gold (did find an answer to that one
).
TIA, and sorry again if this has been asked and answered before, because my searches turned up nothing (perhaps because there is no bonus

Don't forget to check if the referral is only valid on W and up fares.
