Why can't I find this PNR?
Short version: *A award booked through United doesn't show up in "my itineraries." Where can I view it?
Long version: I booked two award tickets yesterday. One a combo Star Alliance with some United flights. The second a Star Alliance award on Air New Zealand.
The first booking showed up within seconds, literally, on "my itineraries" on united.bomb.
The second booking does not show up at all. Not in my account online. Not in Mrs. Dcadude's. Even though agent said it would show up in both our accounts since both our MPs are in the reservation. Also the e-mail agent promised with itineraries never showed up (add that to the "lies UA has told me" thread! ). NZ site does not have a place to look it up, not that I think it would help as it's a United PNR.
Yes, I can backdoor view the basic booking using "I cannot find my flight to upgrade" and the "sponsor upgrade" links. However, this method only shows flight dates and numbers. It does not show times or produce a printable itinerary.
No, it does not show up on checkmytrip, viewmytrip, etc.

If your flight does not contain any UA metal, i.e. is all NZ, it won't show up in your itineraries, even if your MP # is in the record.

Because there are no UA segments on the NZ only itin, it will not show up on united.com. You will have to call NZ, give them your flight details (date, flt #, names) and then as for the PNR that NZ has, it will be different than the UA one you know of. You can then put that into the appropriate website PNR viewer, checkmytrip, virtuallythere, etc. and view your trip online.
I don't know what GDS NZ uses, but it might be worth asking when you call them--at least you don't have to try them all.

NZ tells me they use Corina. (No idea if that's spelled right...phonetically sounded like ko-ree-nuh).
I now have the NZ record number, but it does not work in any of these places:

http://ViewTrip.com

If others have a different experiences trying to view a Star Alliance award on NZ metal (& flight no.) paid with United miles, let me know.
The good news is, I did manage to snag two NZ new business seats, very close to the dates I wanted (as part of a separate award from the award itin that is subject of this thread). Seemed contrary to some of the NZ award fretting taking place on the UA forum lately. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
