Is it possible to retroactively change a FF program after taking a flight with a different FF pgm associated with it? If so, I can change a number of flights taken over the last year where I got 75% on M&M to OP where I would get 100%.

I know you can't retroactively change FF programs once your miles have posted. However, I'm wondering if it would work in my case since I didn't actually earn any miles with UA.
I flew LH IST/MUC K class in November and the miles credited to my Mileage Plus but connection LH MUC/IAD K class did not and United refuses to credit them. Has anyone had luck retroactively putting a K class leg on OnePass to earn those miles? The glitch is standing between me and Premier Exec status for 2012. Ugh.
Also curious if anyone has had any luck getting these miles granted based on letters to UA CEO and cc'd to DOT. That would be my next step. Thanks for any help.

Why not switch to an airline that is more customer-friendly like AA? These underhanded unannounced changes just bushwhack customers. At least with AA if it has an AA flight number you don't have to worry about some other airline's chart changing. Of course the main driver on my switching to AA is the way UA is screwing gold (and silver) elites in its ff changes, but straightforward earning charts that you can trust are another valuable benefit. My wife, who is not elite, got caught on this blindsiding by UA on a previously purchased ticket that would have earned miles when bought but didn't when flown. That sort of crap is just pure dishonesty by an airline. One more good reason to say adios to crappy UA. Sad, though, I used to enjoy flying CO.

I don't disagree with you - I would just like to get credit for those miles and have Exec status when I can use it.
So today I tried getting in touch with CO to see if they'd credit the miles. It's not a toll-free number, and almost every time I get a recording that says they're "experiencing high call volume," refers me to the website, then hangs up on me. When I did get through to a rep she directed me to the online form for mileage credit. It won't take the ticket number issued by United. Tried to call back but get the recording again. Feel like I am in hell. More in favor of your argument to switch - still, if anyone has more suggestions before my letter writing campaign begins please let me know.
Meanwhile flying IAD-BKK on UA on Wednesday. Sigh...

Not exactly true. I flew on LH from NAP-MUC-CLT and originally had my MP number attached. I showed my *G to the ticket counter at Lufthansa just so I could use the Premier lane for checking my bags, and unbeknownst to me at the time, the LH agent switched my FF number from MP to OP.
As I was flying L class, this resulted in my getting 0 credit for NAP-MUC and only 50% for MUC-CLT posting on OP where MP would have given me 100% credit for both.
After literally a dozen phone calls and emails to MP, speaking mostly to supervisors, I finally succeeded in getting OP to delete out the miles and MP did credit me 100% for both legs.
It was a painful and exhausting process, but stood between my status as Gold or Platinum, so I pressed on and saw it through until I got what I wanted. Took exactly 1 month, but it is possible if you are persistent and insistent enough.

Lufthansa Transatlantic - No Miles Given
I flew IST-MUC-LAX on a United codeshare Lufthansa operated and received no EQM or RDM. The United fare basis was 'K'. Does this map directly to Lufthansa 'K' fare basis as well? 'K' on Lufthansa earns no miles. It was a revenue ticket and I'm shocked that it earns no miles at all.
The total itin was LAX-IAD-FRA-IST IST-MUC-LAX. I got credit for the UA flights (LAX-IAD-FRA) but nothing on the Lufthansa legs. All legs were UA codeshares but I understand that it is the operating carrier that applies when it comes to miles on Star. I applied for credit and UA said that the fare basis on Lufthansa earns no miles. Total ticket price was $565.
Worst part, this puts me 6000 miles short of 1k...
Skylane - sorry to hear about this. I was pretty close to the same dates as you, ORD-FRA-IST-MUC-ORD, at $570 AI, and it booked into L, so I got all the miles for the LH segments also. One apparently has to be ultra-aware of the fare classes these days.
