I applied for and was approved for the deal just a bit ago.

Call the MP customer service line (1-800-421-4655) and choose the "apply for a UA Mileage Plus credit card" option from the voice menu. You'll be transferred to Chase, and the Chase rep will know about the 50k bonus deal.

I would feel much better if this had just been an April Fools post.
My 30k sign-up bonus just posted days ago...

Thanks!

I let my son know about this, included a link to the FT page, suggested he ask about an existing reservation, then chase after Chase. Just got this from him:

"Thanks for the heads-up, I applied and got one"

No problem, glad some of you got it to work. And for whoever asked, Yes, I am a first time signup. I was waiting till they baited me with more miles

and yes, i think fee is waived for 1K. The united rep said there was a fee of 60 bucks after first year, but quickly said, oh wait nevermind you are 1k

BA 5 months ago?

I signed up for the British Airways , Chase card in November. I seem to recall reading only one card approved every 6 months. Any thoughts on that?

Anyone? Is just calling Chase and hoping for an agent who knows of this the only way right now? It still says 30k miles on the UA cards website.

Another question - if I have a personal card, would a business card count as a new account?

Can't speak 100% for this particular offer, but when I got my MP Platinum Visa (before they switched to the new cards) I got a 40k bonus and they did in fact count as Chase "Choices" miles. ^ I would assume the same would be true here unless the terms have changed with the new cards.

I would love to know this as well. I'm in the exact same boat. Anyone know?

Wow. There's no way around it; assuming you book on-line, they're literally giving you $500. That's pretty amazing.

Current Secondary Cardholder Eligable for Bonus

My wife has a card in her name under my Chase MP Visa Account (same acct. # for both cards). Does anyone know if she would be eligible for a the bonus miles if she signed up for her own account?
