Chicago O'Hare Red Carpet Clubs: No showers after 7 p.m.?
 

I flew in from Sydney into O'Hare today (via LAX) and upon arrival in Chicago, I went to the Red Carpet Club to shower and shave up before my continuing flight that evening to New York-LaGuardia airport. At the Red Carpet Club in terminal B (which looks like it is recently renovated), I was informed that the showers close at 7 p.m.

Is this fast becoming another reason not to be a Red Carpet Club member?

Overall the great thing is that the crew and ground staff was as friendly as could be, including a very helpful woman at O'Hare who recovered an item I had left on the plane (which had been locked up and was to be moved to the hanger). She said she was happy to help (and she did recover the gift item I had left on board). I asked her if there is a reference I can use to send a letter to UAL about my gratitude for her help. She said don't worry about it since she is just doing her job. She did tell me a few seconds thereafter that she is to be terminated by month's end but that I should keep flying United. A truly dedicated employee. Hopefully she finds a better opportunity around the corner.

Puzzling that they should tell you the showers at the B-side RCC close at 7pm, because there are no showers in the B-side RCC.

Indeed, the only showers UA has at ORD are on the C-side as part of the Arrivals by United service for arriving international paid C and F passengers, and that really only services morning international arrivals. I don't think that's open past noon-time.
