Yes - the free wifi waves magically stop at row 15.

Actually, it should be free (and of course throughout the plane) if you play the little propeller game at login - supposedly everyone's getting a free code good through 3/31 with the game right now.

A possible idea for the future. This month, it's free for everybody with a smidgen of effort.

My first GoGo experience was on the dAArkside, down to PVR. $9.95 one way, but $4.95 the other due to "the game," played onboard.

$9.95 for a 4+ hour flight is a no-brainer for me, but I'd think twice about $12.95 or more - I'd probably pay $12.95 for a long flight (deductible biz expense) but it's definitely a different price point, and I wouldn't go higher for a flight 3 hours or less.

But I have bunches of free codes for the next month, so I don't have to face that dilemma yet.

GoGo was $14.95 on 3/7 (JFK-SFO), $13.95 today (3/9) (SFO-JFK).

Fortunately, the coupons "won" through the GoGo promotion covered 100% of the cost.

Not going to happen. Same reason why you pay for Internet at a Ritz but get it free at a Courtyard.

For the uninitiated, this blog post that explains exactly how to do this with Firefox by installing a User Agent Switcher Firefox add-on.

Gogo doesn't have any verifiable way to identify the kind of device a customer is using, and so it has opted to rely upon the self-reported User Agent string transmitted by the on-device Web browser.
FWIW, I agree with the blogger that device-based pricing is unreasonable. There's no reason that someone using 1 GB of data on a laptop should pay more than someone using 1 GB (or more) of data on an iPhone.

On a somewhat related note, there's a $4 off code floating around -- 4offwifi, good through April 7th.

Gogo is now $13.95. Still testing that pricing market, I see.
