Can ticket reservations be placed on hold on United.com?

I used to be able to plan tickets and then put on hold on United.com for 24 hrs instead of purchasing right away. That option appears to have disappeared over the last couple of days. Is this a technical glitch, a removal of a feature, or has just changed the fare rules for all the available tickets at the moment? I found this to be a handy feature, if I wanted to use a VDC free ticket voucher. Hold, go to airport, redeem.

This is still an option, I have a ticket on hold right now. I am unable to hold all tickets though I think its to do with fare rules/etc but could also just be a short glitch. Rest assured it is still a feature.

I thought that Book and Hold online was only an extra option for 1Ks?

Hmmm...this is odd I just went to do a dummy booking to check on the hold button and I cant seem to find it after pressing select either. However I do have an itinerary held in my profile from yesterday which makes me think maybe this is a glitch?!? Not really sure just hope I can still book my held itin.

Yeah... I just tried to hold a booking that expired (I had it on hold yesterday) and I can't find the "Hold Itinerary" button!? There's not even a "this itinerary cannot be held" disclaimer... the hold button is just gone. This would really suck if this is a permanent change.

I started seeing the lack of 'Hold" earlier this evening and it hasn't appeared to come back.

I hope this is just a glitch.

I'm guessing no glitch, unfortunately.

Confirmed--No more holds on united.com

http://faq.ua2go.com/al/12/1/article...18143558502&s=

Can I hold a reservation on united.com for purchase later?

It is no longer possible to put a reservation on hold through united.com.

Please note that any reservation booked through united.com can be canceled within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund.

This is really annoying. I usually put tix on hold after 12am so I can hold them for 2 days.

Damn! It was a great feature, although it might have screwed up their revenue management.

What a shame.

+1 to putting tix on hold after 12, I actually just did this technically yesterday and I guess I have one of the last held itins around as of now

This is a big disappointment. The hold feature enables me to ticket the trip at the airport if I have travel credit. Now, how am I going to do that? Noted that in the past, prices or fare class that are quoted online may not be available in the airport.
