SIN mileage run

Cross Topic Post from Mileage Run Forum

With all that is going on and the location of SIN, should I still do my two mileage runs in Oct? My first run was just a quick turnaround at the airport, only there for about 7 hours. The sencond run I plan to stay a few days. Anyone have a suggestion? Has anyone done the SIN mileage run since 9/11? If so, I would like an info dump.

I did a Sin run on Sept.16 returning the 19 went PIA-ORD-NRT-SIN spent one wonderful day in the beautiful city, on the return was scheduled SIN-HKG-SFO-ORD-PIA the SIN-HKG segment was canceled and had to go SIN-NRT-ORD-PIA, but the return trip was trouble free, the segments went well on all the trip.
I had thought about canceling but decided not to go through life being afaid to do anything.GO FOR IT AND ENJOY

I want to do carry-on for the entire trip, will this be a problem? I want to be able to get off the plane in SIN and go to the Transit Hotel for a rest before heading back in the morning.

I'm still planning to take my SIN run from Oct. 5 through Oct. 8 (technically not a mileage run since I will actually spend about 30 hours in Singapore). My wife isn't too happy about it, though.

Inloworbit: You shouldn't have a problem taking a carry-on the whole way. I've done it in the past and new security rules still allow carry-ons (at least for now).

If anybody is going to be in Singapore from Saturday night, October 6, 2001 through Monday morning, October 8, 2001, let me know. I'd love to get together and treat you to a meal.

It is in my book.

BTW, Hunki, onefreeman and I are doing the 30-hour turnaround in SIN Oct. 18-21. Anyone else doing a mileage run then?

I'm doing one (my very first!!!) SEA-NRT-SIN Oct. 7-9. Though again, not a technical Mileage Run, I guess (a 30-hour vacation). I'm so excited!

I'm trying to talk my wife into going on a mileage run with me in October from SEA to SIN, but she's balking at the 6 hour turn around. She says 3 days minimum. At that point is it a mileage run, a vacation, or temporary residence (as I'm sure some of you die hards will say)?

We grabbed this too - thanks to essxjay - but it doesn't look as though our dates match up with anyone elses. (We miss chexfan by a day). Ours really is a vacation though as we'll be spending four days in Singapore, two in Tokyo and a week in Hawaii.
