Intl F ex-LAX: Which lounge to use?
Hi Folks,
There were no recent threads on this one. I am on UA tomorrow SJC--LAX--NRT--TPE with a 5 hour layover in LAX. I am in Intl F (paid upgrade at checkin from C).
Which is the best lounge to use for my long layover in LAX?

The UA flight departs from T7, so that's your only choice. I don't think you can get into TBIT if yuor flight doesn't depart from there.

The UA IFL at LAX is actually quite nice. It's quiet, has decent snacks, and most importantly, the agents are awesome (unlike their counterparts at SFO).

Yes, the LAX lounge is nice. They have a pretty good selection of snacks, booze, good seating areas (including some leather recliners in a quiet corner), and good views of T6 and the south runways.
I don't know if they still do this, but the two times I've departed LAX in International F, an IFL agent took our boarding passes in the lounge, then escorted the First passengers directly onto the plane. We didn't have to use the gate reader, or brush elbows with the boarding passengers. Will you please post after your trip and let us know if they do that for your flight?

They will often do it if there's more than one person manning the lounge. If there's only one, they won't leave the lounge unmanned.
It is nice if they do offer it because they sometimes will wait until the end of the boarding process if there is a separate F cabin (so lack of overhead space isn't an issue) - that way you're the last to board the flight before takeoff. Less waiting.

One of my favorite uses of the International first class lounge at T7 is on my redeyes to JFK.. Lounge has great food, good choice of booze and hot appetizers.. Staff is great. and it is a true pleasure...
