Zones are gone, Boarding by row starts 11 May

I just heard that UA will be adopting CO boarding procedures and lose the boarding by zones. An earlier thread talked about uniform military before GS/1K but also children under 4 before GS/1K!

I believe it starts on May 11.

#$%!

I'm sure this will turn into another debate, that probably goes to OMNI, but I like the way that UA does boarding. So much for the "best of both worlds"

If all elites are going to be using the red carpet, imagine how bad the lines will be on some flights!

Try SFO-ORD with more than half of the aircraft having 2P or higher.

Yup, except the children part. They are after elites, b4 all else regardless of if they are in the front blocking all others, or in the back.

Or IAD-SFO. I was on a 320 once where the GA dispensed with zones altogether because way more than half the flight was 2P or higher.

I'm surprised by this. CO takes 35 minutes to board a 737, and 40-45 minutes to board a 757 (compared to 30 minutes for UA).

I always thought this inefficiency was a result of CO's lack of zoned boarding.

Military, First Class, all Elites, then by row number from the rear of the plane.
