The ERJ-145 has 1-2 configuration, with the 2 side beginning at row 3.

Cabin walk through video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mu6HewvsvlU

In general, the A side provides wider seats, with armrests that can be moved out of the way using the button under the armrest where it meets the seat. The exit row (18) provides the greatest amount of legroom, although this is a regional jet with very limited space.

Many people prefer to be closer to the front (seats 1A, 2A, and 3A), while recognizing there is no overhead storage for these seats (all overhead storage is on the right side of the plane starting at row 3), however, sitting close to the front can lead to being reseated farther back to accommodate weight balance for take-off.

1A, 3CD, 18ACD are E+ seats and the rest of Row 2-5 are regular E- but are reserved for UA premier members

Where to sit on an E-145?

Easy. In the gate area waiting for the GA to announce the flight has been canceled (or significantly delayed)

Not for me, and I fly but once a month at most. I will say they check at least nine times out of ten, if not 19 out of 20, but I've been on a number of flights where FA didn't bother.

Usually didn't bother with service either

This would be Barbie's Dream Jets, they have to at least pretend on mainline.

Rows 4 and 5 are "reserved" on RJ 145?

What does "reserved seating" mean? That's what it says on the seatmap.

It's from the CO days before E+ when the first few rows of the plane were "reserved" for elites. You'll see it on the 738s that don't have E+ too.

It also can help with w&b as it will fill the back of the plane up first

How so? I don't think they are blocked.

They are not blocked I will select that on some RJ flights where I know E+ is bs and I would rather sit towards the front but not the first row.
I've only selected and booked from my account with status so not sure what the criteria are.

have a flight coming up.... which has more legroom on the RJ145?

1A or 3D? (only two seats remaining) Is the seat pitch 34"
as SeatGuru claims?

Thanks!

1A, 3D really doesn't have a lot of leg room but 1A has a fair amount, although it can get cold up there.

Define "fair amount" of legroom, please? Is it 34" or more?

As for cold.... I don't know why people complain about cold all the time.
It can't be colder than Fairbanks in the December. (where I lived for
nearly 9 years)

To heck with leg room; you won't take the chance of having a Sumo Wrestler next to you in 1A, if that matters to you. Once you've had one next to you, it'll matter, trust me.

The only issue with 1A vs. 3D (and I agree with the legroom comments above) is that you'll have to put your bag two or three rows back in an overhead bin and it can be a paint to retrieve after the flight as you're swimming upstream.

Depending on the FA and the size of your bag, if you're in 1A they may put your bag in the closet.

with an un-cooperative FA(what other kind is there on RJ145s?), how many
football players does 1A have to fight to get to his/her bag in the back?

on second thought, I'm in 1A and my bag is 2 or 3 rows bag, I'm not moving
an inch until someone passes me my bag. They'll have to tackle me to the
ground before I let them pass.

Where to Sit on the ERJ-145. (Includes Nov. 2013 seat map change.)

I end up in 1A quite a bit and never have to wait for more than a few minutes till I can retrieve my bag from above 3B. No need to be a jerk about it. I usually stand in the galley. Sometimes I get my bag passed up without asking.
