Indication of switch to Polaris?

We have ticketed SFO-ICN-HKT in December.

It was ticketed as SFO to ICN in "United Polaris First", initially on a 747 then quickly changed to a 3-cabin 777-200. Just looked today and it still shows the 777-200 seat map and has us in 1A and 2A, but the reservation says "United Polaris Business (O)". So still the First Award booking code but described as business.

Wondering of if this is a pending change to either a 777-300 or a 787.

777-200 also has 2 class versions - it could be one of them as well

Too early to worry

It is too early to know the switch of aircraft type. You will have to wait for a few months.

It's strange because they are still selling First and we are still in O First but with a Business Class description.

But those are sCO, which are typically based in IAH and EWR. Do sCO 777's ever pass through SFO?

It could very well be the 787.

Although im holding out for it being the 77W.

SFO-ICN is not on the short list.

Looks like it is going to switch to 787-9. When I went in to the seat map it shows the seat map of the 777-200, but the indicator says 787-9.

I've got the following for the schedule load through next year:

744 through 29Oct
77Q (3 cabin) through 23Mar18
78Z beginning 24Mar18

UA also placed the 772 as a placeholder on the SFO-NRT schedule before updating the schedule to the 77W, so this is still a possibility. Whatever the schedule says now doesn't mean much.

So then maybe some sort of glitch? Can you check the SFO-LHR as well. I'm very sad if that one is switching I just pulled seat map and we booked that flight specifically to be on the 747 one more time in our favorite seats. It still shows 747 seat map but the indicator shows 777-200. I'll be so sad if we don't get to do that last 747 flight. Too late to change it now as we already have theater tickets in London, etc. I had hoped that for August we'd be safe.

There were some funky things the other day I saw when looking at award options to book and it would say one cabin lower ie. Economy or Business but it would have the fare class for Business of First.

Just to be precise, it's 787-9, not -900.

August 10. I think there is both a 747 and 787 flight.

Ok now this seat map indicator is back to showing 777-200. Instead of the 787-9 that was showing there before.

Also my other one for the 747 is back to showing the indicator as 747 instead of 777-200. So strange.
