I can more or less confirm the switch to a 787 end of October. My sCO FA friend based in SFO says they are now allowed to bid on 787 flights in November out of SFO to ICN. My guess is the schedule will officially change on Sunday.

It has changed. Now a 787-9 for our December trip. Kind of would have preferred the 777-200 GF but it's still the best and fastest connection so guess we'll stick with it.

Good to hear - I have sCO FA friends and 2-2-2 is more comfortable anyway - looks like I'll have an enjoyable flight for Christmas!

More comfortable for Business less for First that got downgraded and no mileage refund because the award price on this flight is the same in GF and BF.

Not really. HKG doesn't have it, NRT doesn't really either I think. Possibly China but don't really want to connect there. This is also 22 hours enroute everything else is over 30 - lots of forced overnights. We'll slum it in Business. . Have actually never done that length flight on 787 so be interesting to "test" if the pressure difference and humidity with be better for jetlag.

For me the pressure makes a huge difference, but of course you could be different. KIX is the only SFO based flight with GF that I can think of, especially as of this December, otherwise GF flights are out of ORD.

Right but that list is only what we know so far. UA will add more 77W routes as it takes delivery of more new planes. The point is that this is potential speculative evidence of a 77W on this route, which isn't a crazy suggestion given that the 77Ws have been replacing 744 routes. UA also placed the 772 as a placeholder on the SFO-NRT schedule before updating the schedule to the 77W, so this is still a possibility. Whatever the schedule says now doesn't mean much.
Not that that should/would stop speculation.

Thanks.
August 10. I think there is both a 747 and 787 flight.
Ok now this seat map indicator is back to showing 777-200. Instead of the 787-9 that was showing there before.
Also my other one for the 747 is back to showing the indicator as 747 instead of 777-200. So strange.

I'm not sure this is related but I'm on UA 77 in august and the seat map changed and currently shows what looks like domestic first class seats. Is it just a bug or could it be a temporary seat map before they switch to the Polaris one ? ( AC is 763)
