In recent years, in January (typically second week or so), UA has offered status-buy programs to those that failed short of the normal requirements in the previous year. Generally UA has limited to no more than an additional 15K PQMs or 15 PQSs ( and similiar limits for PQDs).

2017 UA MP elite status buy-up offers (for higher status than earned in 2016)

Didn't make 1K for 2017 and wound up as Platinum.

Got my offer this morning. ~$4500.

Might I suggest we don't have a string of "not me"s. They will likely be the predominance of the situations.

In the past, 15K PQMs (or for the segment folks 15 PQSs) were the max shortfall, what would be interesting is offers with greater shortfalls.

Also, the offers previous tended to exceed the PQD shortfall , it would be interesting to hear offers less than the PQD shortfall.

Place in the wiki link to previous years threads on the offers
and links to "Is it worth it to stretch for ...." for those wondering the value of the offers.

Wow.. $4500 seems steep for such a small gap. You should have gone with the accelerator and upfared a flight.

Got offer Gold -> Plat ~2,000
was 11,000 miles short
(only had $4,500 pqd -- have the cc so this requirement is waived)

Yeah. But I couldn't make it work out. The accelerator itself would haven't closed the spend gap and I had no decent upsell, except in retrospective it would have been cheaper!

I had 22K in spend last year, but only 75K PQM. I got no offer for 1K. Would be interesting to see what it was. I haven't been 1K in a while, so if it was something small, I might've taken it.

Limit for those January promotions has been max 15K PQMs, 25K would be outside the zone.
