So it may not fit this thread exactly, but my 15 yr old and I have just booked a 747 tour (in upper deck business) , before the birds are all parked.
Our 747's booked so far: (485k miles burned)
SFO-LHR (UA 747)
LH to MUC A320
MUC-BKK (TG 747)
BKK HND (TG 747)
HND-ICN OZ 330
ICN-TPE (OZ 747)
TPE- SFO (UA 747)
now we're going to stop and enjoy some of the cities, but the highlight is the 747 for the 15yr old (and I'll admit for me too)

I'll bite my tongue - but as luck would have it I will be stuck again on these aging birds for SFO<->FRA. Thankfully the end is in sight. The 787s blow these out of the water particularly for those flying C who don't like being stepped over.

San Francisco – Frankfurt

This does not bode well for my farewell flight to PVG end of Sep.

See same posted in 77W routes thread. Wonder if ICN will indeed be the last route.

I'm doing my farewell flight as I write. Sitting in 1k which is inoperable. Flight was 2.5 hours delayed in a mechanical, the entire F cabin seems to be nonrevs. Fortunately a very nice Korean couple somehow lost their passports, so they deplaned and they gave me both 1k and 3k to sleep in. I'll miss the plane, but not that much. It is just getting too old. I really like the 788 and 77W more.
On an an aside I took a pretty good video on the take off. Really do love that view. I'll try to post a couple pics from ICN tonight

I'm doing ICN-SFO a week after you. I'm wondering too if they'll accelerate that route also.
One thing I did learn, and pardon me if someone has posted this already: UA will let you cancel or change a ticket that was on an equipment change from a 747. Agent read me the memo. They realize people are trying to do last 747 flights and surprise, they're throwing them a bone if they need it.

However - if they have all 14 77W operational it would not surprise me if they accelerate the schedule, there have been substantial 747 delays recently.

That's good to hear. Although I doubt they'll accelerate ICN faster, it's not planned to become a 77W route and will switch to a 789 after. It seems the only other accelerated routes are because they are switching to a 77W.

Are you just doing an out-and-back?

I'm flying to Austin for the F1 GP, in on the 19th and I fly back to Korea the 23rd, but I'm flying via NRT on the way back because I haven't tried the 77W yet and the NRT-ICN UA flight is going away end of October so it's.... sorta my last chance at doing that leg and getting sushi next to gate 33. Plus, flying direct on the 23rd on the 747 was $1,200 more at the time I booked.
