But they would sell more if it did. Basically, it's free money for UA.

Smile Updated accelerator rates

14,000 PQM at an additional $1,400 or $.10 per mile.

I passed. Too early to think about going for 1K in 2016 as UA has completely abandoned the Middle East where I live.
The accelerator rates have now changed for my itinerary as follows:

14,000 RDM at $294 or $.021 per mile (an increase)
14,000 PQM at $1,120 or $.08 per mile (a decrease)

The $.08 PQM rate is perhaps the lowest I have ever been offered. Tempting. The $1,120 is nearly double what the actual flight fare is.

Figured I'd throw my figures into the ring too, as I switch from AC to UA. No status yet, but will jump straight to UA Plat after this trip.

Transborder, YOW (P) IAD (P) SFO (A) PHX (P) EWR (Y) YOW, booked on united.com

When viewing my booking online, I have the following offers:

13,000 RDM at $273 ($0.021/mile)
13,000 PQM at $1,040 ($0.08/mile)

6,500 RDM at $137 ($0.021/mile)
6,500 PQM at $520 ($0.08/mile)

When checking in online, I have:

10,000 RDM at $230 ($0.023/mile)
10,000 PQM at $700 ($0.07/mile)

5,000 RDM at $115 ($0.023/mile)
5,000 PQM at $350 ($0.07/mile)

$19 or $21 per 1000 miles

The price for buying miles seems to alternate between $19 or $21 per 1000 miles. Currently (for me) it is $21/1000.
Is there a UA system or guideline for the cost to buy miles?

I want to buy some 45000 miles, but would prefer doing so at $19, not the current $21.

$0.023

SFO-PDX-SFO

8000 miles $184 RDM ($0.023/mile)
6000 miles $138 RDM ($0.023/mile)

no PQM offered at reservation or at check in..... probably because I only flew 12,000 miles on UA last year!

PQM offer first requires you check the RDM offer. Then the PQM offer is displayed. Must purchase RDMs to purchase PQMs.

I just switched to UA last month, but I've been combing these educational threads to ramp up. From what I've seen the more competitive offers are aimed at the non-status members (which I've been seeing some good rates on), while for top tier members there is less incentive for them.

Interesting. Although in my case I'm not sure this applies, as I haven't changed status in some years.
In a previous post I read someone mention it was all handled by some UA intern....it almost appears as if this is the case.

I am not desperate for miles right now, but I sure hope they drop back to $0.019/mile in the next few weeks/months.

Two of my int'l itins just dropped to 1.9 cpm RDM and 8 cpm PQM. Both had been at 2.3 cpm RDM and 10 cpm PQM.

On a just booked Transcon they're at 2.7/RDM and 8/PQM.

I have seen 2.7 (!) and 7.0 show up. Guess they really don't want me buying them!

If the Pres Plus FPQMs die as we are afraid, I may try to save a bunch for next January and then use them for status lasting through January 2019, making buying from the Accelerator this year silly, at least right now.
