It's been around for a while in J as well as F. The first time I was on it, the kit contained golf balls as well. The FAs were getting quite annoyed as everyone was handing the golf balls to them for disposal - clearly no one on my flight was a golfer.
I only hope that this is being sponsored by someone as otherwise it's a colossal waste of money, and completely irrelevant handing out golf balls and hideous socks. Now, if they wanted to do tennis balls, that would be altogether better.....

I've got a few from both J and F. The kits are not the same. Same socks and same other toiletries, but the J is a drawstring sack; the F looks the spape of a duffel bag, but with no straps or other attach points, I have no idea what it is.

So United has created an amenity kit tailored to that key demographic of Korean women pro-golfers (Inbee Park, etc.) -- maybe 10 or 20 people. How idiotic.
I don't even like golf and I don't know anyone who does.
