A trip with stops in Hawaii and Asia, would be a trip to Asia with a stopover in Hawaii. The stop in the more expensive region becomes the destination.

Earning with UA and partner segments
Hi,
My apologies if this question has been asked already. This is regarding the changes in UA's program effective Mar 1.
If my itinerary contains segments operated by UA and any of its partner airline but not ticketed by UA. How will I calculate the earnings for the segment that will earn based on the ticket price? Example, CDG-LHR-JFK. CDG-LHR (LH operates). LHR-JFK (UA operates). I assume that I would only consider the ticket price for the LHR-JFK segment and not the total price I paid.
Thanks.

What's the difference between "United Business (P)" on an A320 (YYC-DEN) and "United First (P)" (DEN-ANC) in a B737-800?

The former gets you lounge access and the latter does not. Different seats as well but generally the same idea.

This was a low travel year and I am turning into a pumpkin from UA gold in just a few hours
I'm planning to take a mileage trip from IAD-CDG in May. Will it make a difference if I get the ticket tonight or wait a few days and book it when I'm just a regular member with no status?

At the beginning of the month I flew TUS-IAH-BOS. Except the second leg turned into IAH-BDL with BDL-BOS the next day (under a new flight number). I have gotten credit only for the first segment. When I try to get the remaining credit online where I entire my ticket number, I'm told that it can't be done now, come back later. And it's been like that for 3 weeks.
I think I can dig up a postal address for the M+ Service Center but is there a better way to get the missing credits? FWIW I'm Gold (both last year and this year). Thanks!

When you say the "first segment", do you mean TUS-IAH or IAH-BDL?
These kinds of crediting problems usually need a phone call to MPSC, highly unlikely the online system will work.

I got credit for TUS-IAH, which flew as scheduled (albeit late). The reroute was due to combination of snow plowing in BOS, running low on fuel with divert to BDL, and then cockpit crew timing out in BDL. The BDL-BOS was the same aircraft with a new flight number.
OK, I'll call them, can probably find the number on the web site someplace (though it's heavily biased toward "do it all online")

Hi,
I used UA miles from my mileageplus account to book 2 award tickets for me and my wife. I found that I can access to the itinerary and click "change flight" from either my account or my wife's account.
1) I don't have an elite status with United while my wife is UA Platinum. Will I be able to change the itinerary from my wife account and thus avoid the change fee because of her status?
2) If 1) is possible, if the change cost more miles, would those miles be deducted from my wife's account or my account?
Many thanks,

Interesting question -- since an award can not be funded from multiple accounts, my guess is the incremental miles will have to come for the same account the award was originally booked from. However, I can not recall of hearing anyone trying what you are asking, so it would be interesting to hear your experiences.
