I'd personally love to see the C-series, but even if it does end up being the E-190, I don't think too many of us will complain (although as has been already noted, current E-190 operators don't seem terribly pleased with it).

I'll definitely take a mainline E190 or C-series over the CR7s that have infiltrated ORD-DCA.

Adding these mainline jets will also allow UA to add additional regional jet flying of the 76 seat type, which in theory helps get rid of the 50-seaters.

Either the C-Series or E190 would be operated by mainline. Anything greater than 76-sets has to be operated by mainline per scope clauses in the pilot contract.

I know that B6 had issues with them early in the delivery cycle but they have been much more reliable of late.
Also, keep in mind that the C-Series is not yet actually certified to fly and it has had plenty of problems throughout the test process over the past few years.

US and AC are unhappy and they are getting rid of them. Even Express carriers have been displeased with the E-170's.
The E-190's will be a mistake like the 767-200 and 737-500 orders. I expect UA to choose the cheaper E-190's. The C series will be able to expand and be a very usefull airfcraft. The E-190 is just a stretch.
