Let's pretend for the sake of this discussion, that I had other reasons besides the RDM bonus to try to apply this mileage to the post-registration, post 11/1, post 10/24 ticketing situation.

Throw the economics out for a minute, because I agree I could just pay $80 for the extra double miles. But that's not all it. But I don't want to cheese off some of the posters here by saying much more than that.

I'm a 1K and a Marriott Platinum and it worked for me, both sides of the table.

How would this work with the new dollar-miles thing next year? You could get some absolutely killer miles on J fares. I wonder how it is capped?

Mine are down to S fare.

I got tired of trying to remember the order of the fares so I wrote them on the edge of my the back of my MP card.

Just when Marriott lost me to HIEs, they pull me back in...

Thanks, I thought the miles change was at the start of the year, and I knew there was a limit on the number of miles you could get for a fare after that.

And Base Award miles is essentially the miles of a trip. So as a 1K, I get the base miles, any class bonus, my 1K bonus (which doubles) and now in they'll add another bonus equal to the miles of the trip. So a 1K would get triple miles for a flight (outside of class bonus and above an S fare- at least for my offer).

Got BOM flight in DEC that it would have been nice to wait to ticket now....

I have yet to receive a promo from UA....things like this will continue to alienate your customers when they have been loyal and are never rewarded

I opted out of their marketing emails. I suppose that makes me ineligible for promos. It's the price I pay for a clean inbox...

I entered my MP# and it let me register! Awesome.

The promo looks like it's an "and" not an "or" promo..meaning I should earn double UA miles and double Marriott points at the same time. True? UA doesn't know my Marriott # so how do I earn double Marriott points at the same time?

Bummer I have a Europe trip already booked in "W" class for November so I won't earn double miles on that one.

Thanks,
RM
