Ground Delay @ EWR due to traffic - pulled off plane at BOS?
Anyone have insight to what's going on? GS and G1 boarded 4640 then stopped and pulled off due to traffic delay at EWR. Reboard time has changed 3 times in five minutes, giving me less than hour for BRU connection on 999. App says 999 is on time. Any insight to what is really going on at EWR and what the prognosis is?

FAA is reporting
Not clear that is your issue.
Due to RWY-TAXI / CONSTRUCTION, there is a Traffic Management Program in effect for traffic arriving Newark International Airport, Newark, NJ (EWR). This is causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 1 hour and 25 minutes.

Likely part of the runway construction project that began last April --
"Port Authority officials said they chose to do the work in April and May to avoid the airport's busier holiday and summer seasons. The runway will close again for follow-up work during 10 days in September, in addition to periodic weekend and night closings between June and December."

Ground delay program (GDP) for EWR due to runway construction - UA4640's slot (EDCT) is currently 16:28L wheels up, right in line with the average delay for flights destined for EWR (85 min). GDP was just published at ~14:10L for arrivals starting at 15:00L, which may be why the gate started boarding before the gate knew about it:
Title is wrong/misleading, there has been no ground stop for EWR today (yet).

According to the FAA website, it appears that the issue at EWR has been resolved so I'll close this thread but if it re-appears, please notify the Moderators and we'll re-open this thread
