How is your 2015 mileage working out?

Just booked my first paid ticket for post 3/1/15, BNA-IAH-SAN-DEN-BNA. Receipt still shows that the trip will earn 3826 miles. Of course, within 1k that would have been 7652.

But under the 2015 rules, as a 1k the ticket will actually yield 7788 miles. But I paid twice what I would have paid on WN or even AA, so I'm pretty sure this loyalty thing isn't working out in my favor.

Hadn't seen a thread on it yet and I'm just wondering if people are already booking post 3/1/15 and how it's working out for them.

Current rules: 7652
New rules: 7788
Status: 1k

You paid over $700 for a domestic one-way ticket over 6 months from now? Wow - I may have waited for that to come down a bit...

Maybe that loyalty thing is working out for UA...

Right now my 2015 Jan to end of March has me at:

PQM: 31,158
Award: 52,285
PQD: ~$2,980

The only two flights after 3/1 right now are MEL-LAX and LAX-JFK.

3/27 MEL-LAX getting about 11,700 award vs. 15,840
3/30 LAX-JFK getting about 3,640 award vs. 4,950

So while I am down there I will probably make up for it with some April, July & October F/J paid bookings TATL.

Yeah, if the itinerary shows 3826 miles, that will accrue no less than 7652 RDM for a 1K under current rules. Actual amount may even be higher, depending on routing and any fare class bonus.

The mileage listed on your itinerary does not account for 1K bonus.

2014: 28,000 miles with $4,200 spend. Nothing planned for rest of 2014 or 2015.

After 10 years and 1.3 million miles as 1K, switched my business to Delta.

Couldn't find reason to fly United from Seattle anymore when there are far better choices in terms of route network, operational performance and service.

Thus far this year:

Old scheme: 65,191 PQM x 2 = 130,382 RDM
New scheme: 11,314 PQD x 11 = 124,454 RDM

Eh, pretty close. Compared to how much they devalued my miles with regards to award pricing and saver availability, this is a rounding error.

EDIT: to be clear, that's my 2014 stats under the old and new systems. I haven't booked anything for 2015 yet.

my first and only ticket of 2015 is booked on DL. i'll earn about 1/4 of the base miles in skypesos if i credit it to DL with my expected PM status. if i credit it to AS, it's as yet unclear what will happen since no changes have been announced to DL earning on AS, though i expect them to be coming.

my only 2015 travel booked so far on UA is awards.

This thread is kind of a non-starter. Anyone who is already worried about 2015 ticketing will obviously be disappointed with MP post 3/1/2015. Its been discussed ad nauseam that revenue based earning will disproportionately affect those who fly on cheap tickets. Normally (but not always) those people are booking early.

A bit (or more) OT, but I'm curious about your thoughts, FT-

Slight chance that I'll have a flight to Taiwan come up by the end of the year. R/T from NYC or PHL, likely with UA.

I'm not looking for status with UA, and I'm not planning on flying much at all next year.

The question is,

if I accrue with UA, combined with my current balance I'll have about 15K miles. What could that be redeemed for starting in '15?

Or, should I aim for any status with A3 (Aegean)?

Thanks,
BmB

Current award chart link below. You can use this chart now to redeem for a flight in 2015. Domestic one way saver award is 12.5K miles. United can change the chart (i.e. devaluate) at any time.

The reduced earn rates for *A partners and the requirement that *A flights be booked on 016 stock have turned out to be a deal breaker for me.

As an example, I recently booked an itinerary directly with AC that was not even coming up as an option with CO's web site. To book with CO's web site, I had to piece it together, flight by flight, using the multi-flight option, and then, it was about $60 more, and on top of that, since I'd be booking through SHARES, the whole reservation would be at risk due to bugs in SHARES.

Too much risk, too much burden, and a waste of money, so I booked directly on AC, meaning I get zero PQ-anything.
