United 737-900ER operations at LGA?
Does United operate the -900ER at Laguardia? There is typically a mix of all NBs and express jets, but have never seen the largest 737 operating out of LGA. Is this due to runway length or gate clearance?

Per the July Narrowbody schedule they don't appear to fly the 739 into LGA.
UA is sending the 752 to LGA - so I don't think the runway is the issue.

Have only seen the -700 version
Still expect UA to continue to migrate to more RJs at LGA...they're just weak product-wise vs. DL and AA, too much competition for them.

DL also operates 757's LGA=ATL.
In the old days DC-10's operated routinely out of LGA (I remember taking one LGA-DFW on AA in the late 80's).
More recently, 767'a flew into LGA, but not (with the odd exception) since the early 2000's.

The EA Shuttle frequently ran A-300s and L-1011s too. Since stage lengths are short, less fuel is needed and therefore the 7000' runways are sufficient in most conditions.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 752 needs less runway than the 739 since the 752 has more power.

One of the requirements for the DC-10 from UA and AA to MD was that it could fly into and out of LGA. The L1011 also had this requirement from airlines. How I miss the trijets.

Going off 20 year old info from when I worked AA Load Control (weight-n-balance)...
The runway length at LGA wasn't the primary concern for the widebodies.
It was the "foot print" of the aircraft. I don't remember the details but think the issue was with the amount of weight being supported by the nose gear. It only has 2 wheels, vs the main gear that had 4 wheels each side, thus better weight distribution on the mains. I was told the pavement at LGA couldn't handle too much weight. So in addition to keeping the Load Plan balanced with respect to Center of Gravity, we also had to watch the weight on the nose gear. Sometimes by moving the load aft, but more often with a total weight restriction.
Over the years I recall LGA having traffic reductions and night-time curfews during summer due to "runway work". I often wonder if this work was to strengthen the pavement.
