extra standard award don't show for change award

I applied and received the chase explorer card in order to book all flights at standard award rates. I am able to see the flights I want to book when I use the award search that I didn't see prior to having the explorer card.

I actually am not looking to book an award from scratch but rather change an existing award I booked prior to the devaluation so that I can get the lower rates. For some reason, searching through the change award option does not show the JN flights I am looking for. Any thoughts or do I have to call?

(I am looking to book HNL-EWR on Nov 29)

The original award was PVG-YYZ. I called to change to hawaii award but now they say it falls under the new award chart because it is a new award reservation?

So it will be 90+6 oneway LIH-EWR-DTW instead of 80+5 oneway .

It is a new award. You're changing origin and destination as well as the award areas. There is nothing those two itineraries have in common.

Yup aacharya is correct; changing zones (award types) appears to be a no-go. This thread has a lot of useful information on the topic:

Weird, the change award option at united.com prices it correctly using the old award chart, but the hnl-ewr flight doesn't come up even though I have the chase MP explorer award. If I search a new award, then hnl-ewr will show but of course at new prices.

Even worse, thuogh the agent didn't modify the reservation, somehow it shows that I spent only 120k when I spent 140k (2x saver F) under "view current reservation." But it does still show the original receipt (140k WF76) when I click review receipt. ugh.
