Easter Sunday- Gotta Love It (EWR-TLV)

Flying EWR-TLV tomorrow and you don't see this very often for UA84: R6

Less than 24 hours out on the Sunday flight. I fly this route 3-4x year and it's one of the toughest GPU's in the system, IMO. Especially on a Sunday. Thanks, Easter Bunny.

PS- I hit 1MM miles 437 miles into the flight. Kinda fun, I guess.

As someone who has spent more than my fair share of holidays in the air I wish you all the best and happy Easter! Only we can appreciate the true meaning of R6 - and I think we need help....

Will they be serving a traditional Easter Ham Dinner on this flight? Also will they have an Easter egg hunt at 35,000 feet?

I love traveling on the big holidays. Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.

Easy upgrade and a (usually) festive atmosphere. I swear that is the real reason...not avoiding family or anything....

This just motivated me to take a look at the flight I've been considering to BRU in June. R9. ^^ Yay for finally using a GPU!

R is the fare bucket for upgrades to first class with miles or instrument.

Usually R=0 until near flight time, so you sit sweating hoping your upgrade is about to pop or spend 12 hours in Coach with no kosher limes.

EWR-TLV rarely opens R>0 atT-48, ergo the posters exaltation.

R=6 or R6 means that 6 people can book in coach, apply upgrade, and be immediately confirmed in FC....^^^^^^

Some jerk must have postponed a group business trip again....

A good flight to ask the FAs for the left-over shrimp cocktails, too.
