Aren't the video-less planes new-ish?

Smile What to Expect in UA Business Class to CUN / Cancun

My wife and I will be flying to Cancun on Friday July 25th from Denver on flight 1119. We booked business class on this flight , seats 2a and 2b on a 737-900.
It's my understanding that on these short haul international flights untied books first as business, don't understand why, but will we have a normal first class experience?

Will we have free acess to the red carpet club in denver for these seats?

Does this type of aircraft have TV?

Does this type of aircraft have WiFi?

No to Red Carpet Club, yes to United Club. Regular domestic F experience. Seats are little bigger than coach, but that's all. Nothing special. Don't expect it to be anywhere near Transatlantic/TransPac service or p.s. service. Once you can see your plane # under flight status, you can see what entertainment system (if any) or WiFi (if any) will be available, if the plane isn't switched in the interim. Or here:

You'll also probably see a lot of people putting their bare feet on everything.

Your currently scheduled aircraft has DirecTV and a test (beta) version of UA's inflight wifi. Maybe 50% chance the wifi works.

The drinks will be free. The food is not great; I usually try to eat before I fly.

Have a great time in Mexico!

I dident realize the united club and red carpet club were not one in the same?
Can someone tell me the difference? Here in denver?

The Red Carpet Club is the old name of the United Club. When the merger occurred the Red Carpet club became the United Club.

They're pulling your chain!

The Red Carpet became the United Club during the merger!

By the way, they knew what you meant and just couldn't let it slide!

In my experience the odds of the "standard"
Wifi system working are less than 50%. The odds of any of the satellite systems working reliably for most of the flight are 0%.

Another stupid question... Where do I find my scheduled aircraft
Edit... Never mind found it!

I've never flown a transatlantic flight much less one in first so I'm sure it will be a treat above coach for us.

You will (should) have a better experience than sitting in economy

Not my experience. The satellite based system on the 744 generally works quite well, they seem to have the bugs worked out there. My last flight on a 320, the wifi was fast and stable.

And I stand by the 50% prediction on the 739 "beta" version - either it will work or it won't. 50%.

Read this thread, and adjust your expectations accordingly when it comes to food (especially posts from last 2 months)
