Pleased with the BGR addition- they are currently served by US, which will obviously not be available to UA pax after March.

ERI & FNT are repleacements for soon to be shuttered service from CLE. Looks like COD already has UAX service from DEN.

Haven't seen BGR/COD reported, but ERI/FNT was posted last week:

New service from ORD-FNT and ORD-ERI begins June 5

are these once weekly flights anything more than a dog and pony show? UA is trying to pull the same thing right now (i recently learned from FT) on IAH-RNO on Saturdays. i can't imagine 70 seats each direction per week is really doing that much for the bottom line. why even bother?

Only Cody is once-weekly. The rest are daily at minimum.

BGR is 1x/day, going to 2x/day in summer. It's not about O&D traffic, it's about the BGR market to the West Coast and TPAC, all of which become 1-change journeys with no long drive. A significant economic boon for Northern Maine.

Cody was the flight i was referring to in my rant, along with IAH-RNO. I just can't see how those 70 seats a week justify their own existence and as you both know I'm far from a route cutting apologist.

A lot of vacation/VFR markets get once weekly service or service increases.

BGR will be cool. Always exciting to extend into the far corners of the map!

I wish these press releases would be a bout more upfront that it is express and not UA proper with the service!

I remember when UA flew to BGR in the 80's/90's. I went to college in Maine, and I would drive to BGR to catch the UA flight to ORD via PWM on the 727. The flight to PWM was 90 miles or so, about 25 minutes is the air!

Who knows? Maybe they can work it in with their frequent OSL/ARN/MAN/GLA/etc-BGR 757 service!

Agree!...It will allow easier access to our family's summer home. I remember the "old" days when UA served BGR with 727s and 737s out of ORD...several times a day!

I am absolutely thrilled. The June flights are clearly targeted to tourists. Hopefully the early flights in July and August perform well - they shave off about 2 hours for me compared with connecting in DTW on DL to MKE. And it isn't on a CRJ or ERJ to boot!

That makes two of us. I like United, but not enough to drive 2 hours to PWM.

I would argue that it's more about the "from-everywhere-to-Acadia-National-Park" market. It's a great addition nonetheless.

Similarly, I think ORD-COD is about the "east-coast-to-Yellowstone" market.
