GS Reception & Security Lanes experiences at EWR

Hi Everyone. Got an email from UA today that included a mention of new GS reception & security lanes at EWR. There is no additional information in the email or at the UA site. Does anyone have any insight into what this involves and when they might open?

The lobby and reception area is on the mid-level. Same level as C-1 security.
It is on the right of the escalator as you go up from the lower level

It is suppose to open next Tuesday Jan 21.

Ok. Will be interested to see it. Any idea if it will have dedicated GS security screening as well? The email makes it sound that way ...

I believe it occupies the old connector hallway between the C-3 and C-2 checkpoints. Should drop pax right to the GS security line as in ORD.

New GS Reception & Security Lanes at EWR?

Yes dedicated checkin and dedicated security. Just no Mercedes to the plane yet (as in a couple other airports).

...so they're already trashing that newish GS area they just built in the past year or so that's at the end of the mid-level?

That would suck for the rest of us, though I suppose with PreCheck at all 3 checkpoints it is slightly less bad.

Maybe we can walk through the GS area while yelling: "Don't mind me, just passing through!"

I don't know if it's live yet but I saw it the ther day -- complete with a SurrenderBox(TM). It was visible from the airside corridor. It seemed to connect to where the C3/C2 tunnel used to come out at C3.
