So the UA rep doesn't know why and UA didn't replace the flight as the system shows a 752 in the same time slot #2081, but the agent says the flight is ghost flight

TIA for any insight on the cancellation and why didn't UA just replace the aircraft with a 2 day advance.
The "ghost flight" is showing about 1/3 of the seats occupied, Full in F and actual people on the upgrade list. Too soon for Halloween...

Just another example of the poor scheduling and maintenance procedures that UA uses {unnecessary}

It was probably in the processes of moving over. Since they're changing from sCO to sUA they need to make a new flight number and rebook (manually).

This will appear to other agents as a "ghost" flight because they have closed all seats on the replacement flight (not for sale, not for irrops, etc.) until things are moved over.

It looks like the manual move is mostly done now (10 seats occupied, probably seats that are on a non 016 ticket and can't be moved until UA gets control around T-24) so I'm guessing you're now on 2081. Be sure to check on your seat assignment (bird doesn't look too full, but it's a downsize so things aren't going to be great) as it will have undoubtedly changed.

If you went out of your way to fly the 788 you might be able to convince a sympathetic agent to re-arrange things for you, especially if you are Gold+ and they can call it an SDC.

So my 6am ORD-LGA (1746) tomorrow morning was "Canceled due to severe weather conditions in our route network". Lovely. At least I was auto-rebooked onto the 7am flight with decent E+ availability (lost the upgrade, though).

Apparently, there are severe wind advisories in Chicago, although (like the rain/snow mix), that's not supposed to get really bad until mid-morning (around 10am). Oh well...

Mechanical Delays

Just finished flying 4 segments 3 of which were mechanical delays
of 1-3 hours
Thought aircraft reliability was getting better?

IAH-MCO 1Nov 3 hours late started 12 hours earlier in day but never caught up and no
proactive reroutes by UA ( though was coded as delay due to problems in our network)

MCO IAH 8 Nov 1 hr delay computer not talking to dispatch
LAX SFO 8 Nov 1;20 delay crew coming off 3 hour late inbound

That sucks?

Not totally sure what to say here...

My sampling of late has felt to be an increase in reliability, I think you just had a series of unfortunate events (though its still not great, and I am going through ORD tomorrow
so all bets are off.)

Yesterday's flight (11/08/14) from PBI to IAH was cancelled - ruined my mileage run :-( Had to fly home on Delta.

Did you rebook on Delta or did UA rebook you on Delta? You can call MileagePlus Service Center and ask for original routing credit.

Canceled due to aircraft maintenance

First, my international flight UA872 was delayed for 3 hours on 11/11. UA re-booked my connecting flight from UA1727 to UA1428, which was supposed to be a B787 aircraft coming in from KIX Osaka. I was looking forward to flying the B787 instead of a B738.

Upon arrival in SFO, a text message informed me that UA1428 was cancelled "due to aircraft maintenance". What maintenance? Luckily, there was another flight UA2083 leaving about the same time. Strange. UA2083 was not originally on the list of available flights from SFO to IAH on 11/11.

Despite the delay and cancellation, my bag and I arrived in IAH on schedule without any further delay. With almost every one of my UA flight being delayed and/or cancelled in the last six months, I am seriously considering other options other than UA. (Or, should I have confidence that UA can still take [good] care of me in times of irregularities. )

UA 1221, HNL - LAX on 11/12 canceled due to aircraft maintenance.

Anyone know more about what happened to this 753?

UA1581 (EWR-SFO) & UA1120 (SFO-EWR) on 11/13 - MX

Anyone know what happened to this bird? Seems pretty bad as both flights were 100% full and there definitely wasn't sufficient space on other planes to get all of the pax over (the only flights with space are the redeyes).

Tail # is N47414
