It was only on the ground there 2hrs. That's actually impressive, I think.

903 5.5 hours late today. MX
926 3.5 hours late today. MX
40 1.25 hours late today. MX
First 2 are estimates, 3rd in flight
Friends on all of them. Pathetic UA

My 4-5 hour buffer for INT'L flights has now turned into overnights at connection point when on UA. Domestic I still add 2.5 hour buffer

The answer is NO. Since it would be an improvement, it's not possible. UA only does devaluations and service downgrades

I was on UA5 from Heathrow to IAH on 7/29. It was the 787 Dreamliner- delayed 4 hours b/c of maintenance. Pilot said it was b/c of messages popping up that they couldn't get rid of. Luckily I was in BF and just watched a movie or 2 and drank soda. They even opened the warm nuts for us at some point.

We were asked to deplane after about 3 hours and just as we were deplaning the LONG jetway, we heard a voice calling us back. The new engineers (shift change occurred) had figured it out. But then we had to wait for catering again.

We arrived 4 hours late into IAH. They rescheduled my connection & booked me a room. UA also sent me an apology email with a choice of miles or $175 e certificate.

Would be another great time for someone to pull cancel/delay rates on the 787s...would love to see UA's vs. OALs. Something's rotten here...

Nothing rotten, just par for the course when planes through too many hubs. United management, like Southwest's (who has similarly poor operational numbers these days) has made a deliberate decision to flow any given aircraft through multiple hubs in its network at any time...in United's case, concentrating the 744 fleet in SFO is the only major exception to this principle.

Since United's still small-ish (for fleet planning/operations purposes) 787 fleet is dispersed over 4 hubs, straightforward operational recovery becomes nearly impossible when a problem arises. Every other 787 operator has flights to/from 1-2 hubs, and can sustain far higher operational reliability levels as a result.

I thought Southwest didn't have hubs? I agree their OTP is suffering, but I think the reasons behind that differ from UA's.
