I had a missed call from united at 6:15 this morning but no voicemail like you'd normally get with a flight delay. I have a flight Friday morning (a little over 48 hours from this missed call). I called back and the agent said everything was fine with my reservation and didn't know why I was called. Any thoughts on what this could've been about?

Perhaps your flight might be on the way to being oversold and you were getting a pro-active call about moving to a different flight? (others have posted receiving calls about that in the consolidated forum)

LOL. They should also communicate the amount of TOD that eliminated your UG opportunity.Originally Posted by mre5765
I once got a call informing me that my upgrade didn't clear. Those boys in Houston love to rub it in.

The question is are the flights OK. Originally Posted by Often1

The lack of clear answer to either is the unsettling aspect.

Exactly. They were calling to let you know they sold your upgrade to a GM for $29.Originally Posted by uastarflyer

I had a similar issue - I have 7 active reservations, but none of them are within the next 2 weeks. Got a call from United in the early morning hours with no message left.
I now have to look carefully at all of my reservations to see if anything has changed.

I get missed calls every day without a voicemail. I figure if it is important they will call back. I sure wouldn't worry about it.Originally Posted by AGSF

My 7:40pm flight last night discovered a mechanical issue after we were all on board and had been asked to turn cellphones off. The Captain kept us fully informed throughout the one hour delay. On landing I had two voicemails from United, one giving a new departure time and the other, timed 10 minutes after the original departure time, advising that I now need not turn up at the gate for a further 5 minutes.
If they want to eliminate waste, this would be a good place to start.

Turn off phone call alerts and enable email alerts.

I was consistently getting random calls from united with no voice mail. I'd call back and ask what they were about and no phone agent knew.
Then one day I managed to answer it, the calls were survey callbacks to survey me regarding the call I had just made to united (8-36 hours previously).
