Being an official 1K 2MMiler in October 2013, I currently only have 3,500 miles in my MP account and have more than 4 upcoming award trips, and feel good that I always try to burn the miles as fast as possible. I used it all for my leisure trips 4 times a year with my wife. (Winter break, Easter, Summer break and Christmas).^^^

In 2010, I had fewer than 20K miles. Now I'm at around 180K. Never redeemed a single mile in the lifetime of my account. I can't justify spending miles on a flight and not getting the PQM/EQM for that flight, unless I reach 1K status and collecting more PQM/EQM literally doesn't matter.

Requested upgrade from int'l Y to C of a flight early next year. If it clears, it'll be my first ever mileage redemption. At least UA didn't touch the upgrade award charts, at least for now.

OK I'm a mileage hoarder. Travel too much right now to think about using them. Sitting on over 2,000,000.

RONINASPEN, just out of curiousity, what did your 5 million redeemed miles go towards?

I keep 1-2 million in my account, but when I think about it it is not that much in comparison to my travel. I already have redeemed over a million this year and have probably earned about half that. When you maintain households in two countries and need to move family back and forth, it goes really fast.

I've got about 400,000 at the moment. I try to use them up as quickly as possible.

I have about 300k right now. In 2012 and 2013, I've burned 65k + 65k + 120k + 80k = 330k. Thinking about re-upping United Club with miles. We'll see. I certainly travel enough to make good use of it. Will most likely be spending another 80k-100k for a Feb trip with the family.

You may feel differently about that if you had a family. It can be painful to actually pay money for 4+ plane tickets when you have 100k miles you can spend just as easily. Also, many will disagree that reaching 1K means that additional PQM do not matter. In fact, you earn 2 RPUs for every 25k PQM and 2 GPU for every 50k PQM after reaching 1K status.

Under 20K now, with earning rate of ~300K/year. They will never increase in value (quite the opposite), so I use for family and friends North America travel in E+; 25K miles for $900 flights is a good deal.
I'd rather pay for W and upgrade w GPU for all personal international travel; I secure R availability at time of booking (11 months out)

Just about 400,000........plan to use them (carefully) when I hit 1MM next year. Also, have 300,000 at AA.

Well mine has been drained to 20,000 after two *A redemptions for 2014 (TK J and LH F). Lowest it's been in many, many years. Feels kind of weird not to have 200,000+ miles sitting there.

What's your Mileage Balance and what's your average?

Current: 250k (mainly because I just booked a int'l biz award ticket + car rental. I have 55k coming from a CC offer and probably another 20k coming from a MR)

Average: 300-350k even with significant yearly award travel I rarely dip below this

Highest: 450k once I think
