I would suggest to move it out in 3-month buckets - and when/if there is a schedule change, you can use that opportunity to cancel with no redeposit fee.

Dang, that 'same carrier' is turning out to be tough. The original itinerary is
- AUS to ORD on United Express (GoJet)
- ORD to ICN on Asiana (stopover)
- ICN to NRT on United (destination)
- NRT to ICN to SFO on Asiana
- SFO to AUS on United Express (Skywest)
