Apply for upgrades now available within 24 hours
mods - if this has been noted elsewhere, please move... I did a cursory search, and could not find this info:
So a gem of an agent just showed me that checkit allows them at the airport - same day - to apply regional, system wide, and miles upgrades to a reservation!
Not sure if this functionality works with reservation desks, or other areas, but it appears fully functional at the airport.
This is great news for us last minute travelers!

Since I did not believe it was possible, the agent, seeing my doubt, showed me the screen on checkit, which clearly showed options of miles, RPU, GPU, or even a Cash option - which closely looked about equal to M - my U fare...

I'm not sure this is news, is it? Well maybe the CheckIt functionality, but not the policy.
If R class was available this was possible previously. The issue was being able to waitlist inside 24hrs for an upgrade if one wasn't available.
