United not responding to refund request

United fined for failing to issue prompt refunds means you'll have to chase them repeatedly, possibly without reply for a long time, part of regular operating procedure.
UA has much improved since then on handling refunds. My most recent wifi refund was handled expeditiously. Upon submitting the request, I received an e-mail from UA advising me their commitment was to process the refund within seven business days. It actually took them only two or three.
