Is this award allowed?
My parents are trying to book the following award:
EWR-IST
open jaw
DXB-BKK (destination)
BKK-EWR
Can someone please tell me if this is a valid award? When they call to try to book it, they're getting an answer that it can't be booked because TG has recently changed their rules and that it's not allowed. That seems a little strange. If there is a real reason it can't be booked, that's fine but the reason they're giving sounds a little odd.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

hmmm, I see 2 problems :
1. IST and DXB are in 2 different zones , so open jaw doesn't apply
2. Open jaw should only apply to the O&D points, not the stopover, but u can't make DXB the dest and BKK the stopover since MidEast-FarEast-NA is probably backtracking routing

Actually, I think you may be right on #1 - different IATA zones.
