SEA-IAD
757
Platinum (friend)
V-Fare

~$500 each way for several months leading up to flights
~$300 after outbound IAD-SEA was completed

$129 at OLCI. Accepted by my friend (though I estimated a 50-60% chance of clearing for free).

Seems a silver flying SEA-IAD on a v-fare was offered the same earlier in the thread.

Does $0 count as TOD? Flying 3/26 SAT-IAH-MSY and just outside 1k upgrade window. Of course when I click on it there are no upgrades available. Guess that why it showed $0.

Will post update as things progress.

Checked seating on United.com Travel Options - offered Upgrade Yto F from MEL-LAX for US$1220 took it paid card charged
Phone United US recredited 30K miles oneway
Online checking for return flight post merger - 24 hours before SFO-SYD flight -offered upgrade online from L to F for US$5731 - declined - no upgrade to C offered
2 hours later rechecked in to check seating - upgrade to F gone - offer of US$1720 upgrade from L to C paid and chose a seat in C

Onboard plane SFO-SYD- (flew from JFK so got printed boarding passes all the way through to MEL in NYC -) guy comes up and tell me I'm sitiitng in his aisle seat - calls over Maitre d'Cabine - Maitre d'Cabine says they were trying to fing me to give me my new boarding pass - 4x instead of 6x - so got my upgrade to F without paying for it Good on United - I'd just like the miles from this SFO-SYD flight credited!
Am I reading this right or did this guy go from a super cheapie coach to Global First to/from Australia (double upgrade) for less than $3k roundtrip? This is the sickest/slickest TOD offer yet. The L-F online for 1220 boggles the mind.

Yes that was the offer -L->F, US$1220 premerger MEL-LAX , and L-C US$1760 post merger for SFO-SYD
Just got offered to buy up from Y (V class) to C on ps flight JFK-SFOin June for AUD550 - beats the $1641 price for a one-way C ticket - so took up the offer, since it seems there will not be many Mileage Upgrade Awards available on ps - not on any dates that i can see

just checked in at T-24 for my ewr-mia flight tomorrow morning. i'm booked on a V fare outbound and paid $295 round trip. prior to today the upgrade cost for this leg was always shown as $370. at check in I was offered a buy up to FC for $129. since i have an exit row seat i didn't take it. i realize that the airline wants to maximize revenue but after 10+ yrs as a plat i personally have little reason to try and re-qualify this year

UA 3444 HPN-ORD
T-fare
offered $99 buy up at check-in (as usual)
at about T-23h was #3 on u/g list, with 3 seats left

$99 buy-up still offered at T-20h. Buy-up before OLCI was over $600 (after CPU on 2nd segment). Difference to B-fare (no M fare on my routing) is about $800.

Update: IIRC it looked bad (I was 3rd or so on the W/L with 1 F seat left, or something like that). However, I got the CPU at the gate, as did two other pax. The flight was delayed (ORD weather); perhaps this helped.

Is this considered low or normal? I mean, the flight is only 45 minutes right?

It seems legit - but it's actually not, said poster needs a B (which isn't even filed right now). H to Y spread is ~$325 give or take.
