From the look of the menu there is hope that we will no longer see the tasteless vegetarian spring role appetiser i have had on recent international J flights on UA.

(on Jan 2nd).
Menu on LHR-ORD on Jan 8 was the same reported by thomasj for LHR-LAX. I also had the curry, very tasty but slightly overheated (the rice at the top and near the edge of the plate was crunchy). Pleasantly surprised by the Ploughman's Plate: the cheeses were all very tasty: a wedge of a mature goat log, a blue cheese and a smoked gouda.

FYI,
I also created a Continental meal description and pictures thread when I flew CO a lot. Here's the link:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/conti...ms-thread.html
Perhaps you can add it to the first post as well, warreng24 ?

The vegetable spring roll had to have been one of the worst appetizers I've ever eaten on a United flight. The inedible skin turned to plastic by the time it was served and the insides were tough tochew. Plus it was puny to begin with.
Good riddance!

Even though it's filled with vegetables ... it's still not worth the calories.

I have to say, I was pretty impressed by the strip steak served from EWR-LHR last week. Not exactly the most tender piece of meat I've ever eaten, but plenty hearty (big) and had a tasty sauce. Definitely a welcome upgrade from the shortrib or the faux filet.

The advertised entree of 'Rack of Lamb' was actually a lump of lamb, for which the FA apologized. Not as tasty as the rack of lamb, which I had on the same journey in May 11.
Ice cream sundae with all the toppings and cheeseburger as the pre arrival snack as good as always

We were on the same flight, and got the same lump of lamb. Note: That same lump of lamb was served again on 1/21, so it's apparently a menu issue, not a one-off.
I think that the "lump" may be a round of leg, btw.
