I've been looking at the options to get from T5 to Baker Street return. From what I've seen the public transport options are only wise if you're travelling alone or don't have much luggage.
If two or more of you are travelling with luggage then a car transfer is the most sensible option.

Not if you have luggage for a week and a half.

The promotional savings seem to have been phased out in favour of special tickets for couples, groups & kids going free. Not much use for people on their own.

Unlike the Tube, the HEX does have large luggage racks with plenty of space for big bags. It's a very comfortable ride, and with 2 people going to Baker Street, it's likely still going to be a bit cheaper (Duo saver) and faster than a car all the way from LHR.

But you do have the hassle of transferring your bags from the HEX to a cab at Paddington, of course.

That's the problem.

The hassle of shifting luggage plus the cab fare on top makes any saving - if any - not worth the effort.

Depending on the time of day, the car transfer will take much longer.

There is luggage space on the Picc carriages, although not a gigantic amount.

For those in the habit of using Network Railcards, they're going up to £30 next week.

You need to befriend someone with a gold card - we get them for £1!

(Sorry, my allowance is taken...)

One per year, unfortunately, unless the office issuing you the Network card forgets to mark your gold card. I also have a gold card

Or, ahem, depending on whether the mark gets transferred when you get a replacement ticket issued when the original gets all dog-eared and faded (I tend to get through 3-4 a year, those barriers at KX are rough...)

Buy HEX carnet online

Hope someone can help.

According to the HEX website you can buy carnets online:

https://www.heathrowexpress.com/tick...s/prices-fares

and
"12 tickets for the price of 9

Frequent traveller? The
Heathrow Express Carnet gives
you 12 single journeys for the
price of 9, valid for a year.

To see prices and options,
use the Book Your Tickets
tool on the right of the page.
"

But I can't fathom out how to do it, it seems you can only book singles or returns for up to 9 adults.

Any clues?

Thanks

When I try to buy one ticket for LHR-Padington tomorrow, I'm presented with:

Express £21.00 £34.00 £189.00
Business First £29.00 £52.00 £261.00

Notice the right most column ...
