Arriving in Edinburgh in June Please Help

Hi, I'm going to be arriving in Edinburgh in June and need some help. I'm trying to fine the most cost efficient means of transportation from the airport to my hotel. I'm staying at the Murrayfield Hotel, but I'd also like to get from there to Multrees Way. I guess my question is would I be able to ride the bus or would I have to get a taxi? Thanks for the help.

I'm a bit confused. Are you trying to hit both stops on your way in from the airport? Or are you trying to get from your hotel to Multrees Walk (which is what I think you meant rather than Way)?

The 100 Airlink bus stops 1 minute walk from the hotel at Murrayfield.

You can take one of several buses from there to central Edinburgh

The journeyplanner at Lothian Buses can give you exact details including maps and accepts street names / post codes / place names / shop names / hotels

Edinburgh has a very intensive bus network. Many buses have screens linked to GPS which tell you next stop, and also which other buses serve the next stop.

It's not the cheapest, but it was pretty inexpensive when grabbed an Uber. There were 4 of us, so when we added up the bus tickets plus the walk, it just wasn't worth it.

I live near Edinburgh and frequent the city all the time. If you're travelling alone or in a group of 2 then Tisbutascratch's advice is the best.

The Lothian buses 100 service is the best option. It stops really close to where you want to be and there are screens on the bus showing stops. Stops are also announced verbally so the service is really easy to use, even if you don't know the city.

Any more than 2 people and the chances are you will find a taxi to be close to the cost of the bus.

Hello Everyone, Thank you so much for all the helpful information. This will be my first trip to Scotland and I'm looking so forward to it.

Scotland is amazing. We're hoping to relocate there next year actually. The fish pie at the castle was so yummy, but really the food was great everywhere that we visited. You can do an overnight bus or take a train to London as well if you want to see another location. RyanAir was also offering $20 flights to Dublin when we went there. One thing that we noticed that was different from the US is that everyone seems to dress up more and you may want to take some comfy shoes because you will be walking everywhere!
