I deleted this post after realizing that I had posted a similar one a few months ago. Maybe some of the recommendations can be moved over?

I am seeing Fleetstreet mentioned twice. Is that a good area for a pub crawl?
Any other suggestions welcome, as I have not been to London for quite some time.

Thoughts on the Abbey Tavern? Is there a typical cut off time for young teens... ie: lunch or can they go to the 8:30 pm show?

Not a bad place, there are some really old pubs with lots of atmosphere. I used to work in the area so that I why I am quoting those.

Also close by is the Seven Stars (53 Carey St, London WC2A 2JB) lawyers pub with a rams skull in the window

Cittie of York (22 High Holborn, London WC1V 6BN) good cask ales

The Tipperary (Fleet Street) Irish pub before they became popular. Good beer.

I have not been to all of these so can't give a personal recommendation but a good guide to some of the pubs in London

Co-incidentally I also spotted this and was going to post it. I've visited at least four of the pubs featured in the article, and I'd say on that basis the book's author has extremely good taste in pub interiors!

Everything listed is beautifully preserved - these are certainly not establishments where the architecture has been allowed to decay, they're places to spend time appreciating the skill of the our pub-building predecessors. So, so much better than today's identikit, plastic pubs that masquerade as 'family orientated' ...
