Flybe expands codesharing to AI

Hot on the heels of its agreement with VS,
Flybe Group PLC (FLYB.LN), the European regional airline, Wednesday said it signed a codeshare agreement with Air India (AIN.YY), covering services to Birmingham from Belfast, and from Edinburgh and Glasgow to connect onto Air India's daily flight to New Delhi.
Flybe didn't disclose financial details.
At 0727 GMT, shares were unchanged at 57.8 pence.

(END) Dow Jones Newswires
AI will place its code on several BE services.

Flybe's new interest in offering local UK feed to intercontinental carriers is, I think, very sensible; indeed it is a little surprisingly they did not offer to do this before. It may be that they are building on their recent success with CX at MAN. Apparently bookings exceeded their expectations.

The more competition for feed with BA, the better. ^
