Lightbulb DUB airport hotels 18/03

Am I wrong or most of the DUB airport hotels are sold out on the 18/03?

I am struggling to find an accommodation for 1 night at a fairly reasonable price (where not sold out).

Is this because of the BA ex-DUB BA sale?!?

I know that there are a "large" number of pax taking ex-EU flights from Dublin but in this case I suspect the availability issue is more closely related to St Patrick's Day being March 17th!

I see the Travelodge at Swords is EUR112 a night.

Otherwise do you have any points you could redeem for another chain - they often end up with last rooms available for points owing to the way their accounts work.

Is there spillover from this weekend? I'm looking at Sat night March 26 and prices look VERY high & not lots of availability.

I see there's a football (soccer) international that weekend and it's also Easter, so a long weekend for many in Europe.

The Easter weekend drives hotel prices up across Europe. It is the first big holiday weekend of the year so lots use for it a getaway, especially for those living where they get a 4 day break.

That weekend there are several major events taking place in Dublin commemorating the centenary of the Easter Rising.
