Heathrow Airside Terminal Transfer
Hi there,
Never been to LHR and wanting to know some newbie Q's...
Arriving in T3 and departing T5 at LHR.
Is airside transfer between terminals okay?
Have OW Sapphire and wanting to lounge hop to T4 and such during my 10 hour layover.
Thanks

You can get into T4 (I think) without a boarding pass, although you may be denied entry into the lounges there. You cannot get into T5 without a same day boarding pass for that terminal.
However once you are in a terminal it is not easy to leave again, unless you know what you are doing. I would not advise going to the wrong terminal.

With a 10-hour layover you may wish to consider a day-trip into London to stretch your legs and have a nice meal. You don't say what travel class or airline, but there are arrivals lounges in both T3 (AA) and T5 (BA), though these are not places you want to be for more than a few hours, and which close in the early afternoon anyway. With OWS you can access the BA Galleries Club lounges (three of them) in T5, which are better than than any other option you have. Again, 10 hours is a long time. Don't bother with trying to get into T4; it'll be a pain to get into and out of, and may not even be possible to do airside as you don't have a BP for a departing flight from there) and there are no OW lounges for you to access there anyway.

Don't Malaysia Airlines have a lounge in T4?
(I know that Qatar do, but it's J/F only, with status passengers travelling Qatar being given a voucher for the Skyteam, but what about Malaysia?)

Thanks for the info guys.
My plans changed and i'm flying out of T4 on MH on the inbound, so going to check out the MH lounge.
Now I have a 4 hour layover arriving in T4 and departing T5

If you are leaving from T5 then you are flying BA/IAG, as you are OWS or may want to meet up with other FTers you should post your details in this thread:

If you are arriving at T4 you won't be able to access the MH lounge as arriving and departing passengers are segregated and without a BP for a departing flight you wouldn't be able to get back in.

IIRC MH use the Skyteam lounge too and I suspect getting in there with a non-MH BP and card would be a challenge.

I very rarely use T4 but IIRC it's like T3, no one check your BP
Of course trying to leave again will be the fun part
