I've just been looking at hotels and now have to decide how little I want to pay Vs. who I have status with.

Premier Inn Ł35 saver rate (€1 e/w for the shuttle I think)
Hilton (shopping centre around the corner?) Ł64+
Radisson Ł85+
Travelodge Ł45
Bewleys etc around Hilton / Radisson prices

Holiday Inn Express - no rooms

I am a big fan of Premier Inn and have booked this one for our ex-dub family holiday next summer. However, have been told elsewhere that there shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes between the hours of 04.15 and 23.00 Not sure if this will impact on your decision.

I have another ex-Dub booked for March and in the return I arrive into DUB at 22.55 with a connecting flight to MAN departing at 06.20 the next morning. Not sure if I am going to bother with a hotel room or just doss down at the airport for a few hours.

Bewleys has some strange pricing. Try a few different sites. I just yesterday booked Bewleys for Ł39 on the amex site, despite seeing Ł70something elsewhere. Could be our dates are significantly different, but all the other hotels had similar prices to what you found for my dates as well.

Oh no it doesn't - it's in a fairly bleak location really on the side of a major road .. the Shopping Centre is really just a large Tesco Extra located a few hundred yards away (but not worth walking to really )

The Premier Inn is located in a retail park near the airport ( B&Q type shops ) - Travelodge is close by, though not in, the same retail park - again not really a shopping centre at all. The Premier Inn is the newer of those hotels ( I think it was built less than 10 years ago, originally a Tulip Hotel, but has been run by Premier Inn for the last few years) .. The Travelodge is an older building.

None of the airport hotels are really in a good location at all in terms of nearby facilities, but if you're arriving late and leaving early then I guess it doesn't matter too much ... The Radisson and Maldron hotels have the advantage of being on site and walkable from the terminals ( though not the easiest to find perhaps - they're not far from T2 at all and walkable from both T1 & T2 - though they both have a shuttle too I think)

The only one I've stayed in isn't on your list - the Crowne Plaza ( The Northwood one, not the Blanchardstown one) .. it's pleasant enough, but nothing special and again in a fairly poor location for anything else.

It might have a rack of 3V cards though

I nearly posted that we are using the Hilton (for the points) and then realised that's not until September!

Must FOCUS ... Next trip is LHR-LAX-HNL, but useful to read this thread in case we want to change our plans.

5-10 minute walk into Swords Village / Pavillions Shopping Centre from the Travelodge it also shares the Premier Inn bus I think?

More for the record, since I posted this somewhat off topic in the TP run thread:

Hotels at DUB: there are 2 within walking distance, several hundred metres so it's not entirely convenient with a lot of luggage, there are bus shuttles for that. Radisson Blu (Ł80ish) and the Maldron (Ł60ish), which use to be the Carlton. These will be more expensive if rugby or the GAA have something going at the same time. There is a basic guesthouse called Glenmore House, and a Premier Inn further off, which will be cheaper but then you need do factor in transfer costs. I've not stayed in either of these two places. Also further off is the other Carlton, Hilton, Holiday Inn, so you should be able to get a good price somewhere.
The taxi fares there aren't massive and the Premier Inn has a shuttle bus service, but there's likely to be waiting since it's only twice an hour, and there's a €1 or so nominal charge for it. Other hotels have free or cheap shuttles.

The Premier Inn has a TGI Fridays and a steakhouse (Hogs and Heifers) nearby.

There's also a nightclub, should it take your fancy.

If you arrive in the early evening, these seem like ok places to get something to eat or pass a couple of hours.

The other hotels are more of the slam-click* variety.

*A new term for me, apparently used by cabin crew when they are staying at a hotel and spend most of their layover in the hotel room. The 'slam' is that of the hotel door closing; the 'click' is the door being locked.

I'm staying at the CP for an ex-EU trip next year. With a 3 year old and luggage in tow!

It appears the shuttle buses run to and from Terminal 2, but BA fly from T1.
How close are the 2 terminals?
Before seeing this thread I was considering jumping in a taxi.

They are right next to each other, if the bus only stops at T2 it will take less than 5 mins with luggage and child in tow. If it goes around to the pick up point IMO it's easier (more of a straight line, on the same level) to get off there.

I'm pretty sure that the Crowne Plaza shuttle bus (and most , if not all, hotel shuttle buses drop at the stop in back of the car park between T1 and T2 .. walkable from both , but a bit of a strep ( The stop is over behind the church in the airport car park )

I don't know if the on site hotel shuttles ( Radisson Blu & Maldron ) also go from there , but if they do it makes very little sense as it's about as far to walk to that shuttle stop from T2 anyway as it is to walk to the hotel.

You can see it on the map here - http://www.dublinairport.com/flash-map/map.html (The Maldron hotel is called Clarion on this map )

Dublin Airport hotel

I'm doing an ex-DUB trans-Atlantic flight in June. It'll involve an overnight stay in Dubbers. I land at 23.00 and take off at 07.00. There doesn't seem to be too many hotels near the airport.

Any recommendations for airport accommodation?
