Liquid restrictions / Baby food -UK

Flying next week MAN-YYZ with 7 month old baby.

Understand that in spite of liquids regs we can take baby food in jars for journey... Does anyone know whether this is in addition to the one Baggie of liquids <100ml per adult allowed or is it extra?

Does taking baby food cause a massive extra delay at security or is it quite straightforward?

Thanks as ever.

You can take as much food as you need for the flight and it doesn't have to be in a plastic bag. You may be asked to eat/drink some of it which can take a few minutes.

if you're worried about it, you can order / buy from Boots airside.

From the Manchester Airport site:
Medicines and Baby Foods

Passengers will also be allowed to carry in their hand luggage medicines and dietary requirements including baby foods, for use during the flight. This includes sterilised water (this must be in a baby bottle).

A passenger may take prescription medication in containers over 100ml through security, provided that they have a prescription or doctors note for the medication. The passenger may only carry through security the quantity of liquid medication that is required for their journey.

Passengers will be able to buy liquids including drinks and perfumes either in an EU airport shop after security control, or on board an aircraft operated by an EU airline. If they are sold in a special sealed bag, passengers must not open them before they are screened otherwise the contents may be confiscated at the security checkpoint.
